Modern Day Pin-Ups & Illustration
Although THE PIN-UP MUSEUM focuses on past history of over 100 years of the Pin-Up, it's important for us to recognize the contemporary icons and creative artists keeping the art of the Pin-Up World alive. The term "Pin-Up" has lost its common utilization particularly after the late 1970s, however, in our case at THE PIN-UP MUSEUM, we'll refer to our content as Pin-Ups in order to paying tribute to those that set the stage for creating its history and it's doing our part in keeping the genre alive for those that want to bring back the styles of yesteryear to new generations today, with a modern twist.
The Pin-Up Next Door
Here is your chance to get involved, while living the dream of a Pin-Up. If you feel you should be in THE PIN-UP MUSEUM, you'll get the opportunity to submit your profile to us, and we'll select one Pin-Up per month to grace the museum with Pin-Up icons of the world. Watch for details in the coming weeks!
At THE PIN-UP MUSEUM, we believe that art is a universal language that bridges cultures and brings people together. We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can appreciate and enjoy the art of the Pin-Up. If some of the content is offensive to you, we respect your wishes to simply disregard, while leaning into other historical topics if history of Pin-Ups is not your cup of tea.
Our end-goal is to uncover what the historical side of the Pin-Up truly means for today's audience, and what it meant during its peak of popularity. What can their impact from the past teach us about modern society, and do the Pin-Up equivalents of today have it easier to make an impact with their craft or is that secondary to making a living? We at THE PIN-UP MUSEUM look forward to answering some of the most pressing questions as we kickoff this one-of-a-kind museum in 2024.
At THE PIN-UP MUSEUM, we strive to tell Pin-Up stories. We are not here to judge the behavior or antics of Pin-Ups from yesteryear or today, we are not here to make political statements, or force scantily clad women in people's faces, but simply to layout history as accurately as possible, while letting you make your own opinions good, bad or indifferent. And, while the Pin-Up industry has gone through countless iterations over the years, we want you as a participant in our storytelling to the greater public. If you have unique Pin-Up story or a more accurate account on the details we provide at THE PIN-UP MUSEUM, by all means let us know where we missed the mark and we'll correct the facts if needed.
THE PIN-UP MUSEUM is off the ground for takeoff through countless hours of collecting, negotiating, spending, borrowing and even bartering when necessary. And, it literally takes a army of experts, connectors, and generous human beings to keep this Pin-Up train moving forward on the right track.
Therefore, aside from simply enjoying the world of Pin-Ups, we are always looking for support, such as unique Pin-Up items, amazing Pin-Up related stories, and any financial support if you have the means to give either in-kind products/services or financially.
And, if you are a small business or corporation that is seeking a fresh set of eyes from our museumgoers, your donations will get you added company exposure and we would be happy to support your events with our Pin-Up Girls team. Please see our GIVE page or drop us a line with THE PIN-UP MUSEUM contact form.
Thank you in advance for your partnership and support.
